Orange Belt Ends
The Orange Belt is the longest of the Allegheny County Belt System. It stretches for 109 miles connecting many of the County Parks (Round Hill, White Oak, Boyce, North, Settlers Cabin, and South.) It connects the Mon Valley, East Hills, Allegheny Valley, North Hills, West Hills/Airport, and the South Hills. For the most part this route tours the rural areas of Allegheny County; however, it does mix in old and new suburbs and retail areas. All photos of the termini of the Orange Belt were taken by Denny Pine.
Where Clifton Road meets PA 88 in Library, you will find what serves as the south end of the Orange Belt.
The Allegheny County Sign Shop which signs the belt routes very accurately and consistently placed both a 'BEGIN' and "END' banner.
PA 48's Southern Terminus at PA 51 in Elizabeth Township serves also as the southeastern end of the Orange Belt.
