One of the most popular scenic drives throughout the Commonwealth is the Covered Bridge Tour in Lehigh and Northampton Counties. This tour features seven bridges in the two counties as well as other unique crossings and viaducts. Five of the six covered bridges built in Lehigh County during the 1800's cross Jordan Creek, a tributary of the Lehigh River. Although seven more covered bridges have been built in Lehigh County since 1972, the county prides itself on the six Burr Truss bridges from an era long forgotten. |
(Manassas) Guth's Covered Bridge - This bridge is one of the anchors of South Whitehall Township's Covered Bridge Park.
Wehr's Covered Bridge - The other bridge to anchor Covered Bridge Park. Wehr's was originally known as Sieger's Bridge.
Rex's Covered Bridge - At 150 feet, this is the longest covered bridge in the Lehigh Valley.
Iron Bridge - A rail viaduct that is a county landmark. |
