The Wilmington Roadtrip
August 13, 2000

The beginning of US 421 south of Fort Fisher. There is a ferry here
that crosses the Cape Fear River to connect with NC 211 and the town of
Southport on the other side.

...And the end of 421, right across the street from the begin shield above.

The end of US 76 in a parking lot in Wrightsville Beach.

My darned flash wouldn't shut off, so this looks fake, but it's not.
This is a shield assembly on the US 74/76 freeway just before the Cape
Fear River drawbridge (and before the roads enter downtown Wilmington).

Same excuse as before (the flash won't shut off), but this is on US 421
southbound at the 74/76 freeway. Extra credit if you can guess the
CDs that reflected off the windshield. :-)

A BGS at the intersection of US 76 and NC 132 near UNC-Wilmington.
This is the first time that I have ever seen a truck route on a BGS.
