The Dallas-Ft Worth, TX Roadtrip (with Marc Welby)
March 13-16, 2001

Need proof that the Dallas North Tollway isn't interstate-standard? Look no further.

Westbound Rodgers Freeway (TX 366), which bears a striking resemblance to I-676 in Philly.

Loop 12 is the precursor to I-635, looping around the center of Dallas at about a 4-mile radius.

US 75 between downtown Dallas and I-635 is probably the prettiest urban freeway I've ever seen. Erik Slotboom has better pictures of the rest of the road, but this is a typical sign assembly. Eventually the road will become a northward extension of I-45, and this interchange will be replaced by some TEXAS-sized stack known as the Dallas High 5, a 5-level stack with the highest ramp 100 feet off the ground.

Eastbound on the President George Bush Turnpike at US 75. This is one of the few stacks where one of the mainlines (in this case, the PGBT mainline) is on the top level of the interchange.

Would you like to go to Sherman or Sherman? (EB TX 366)

How's this for an interchange?? (NB US 75 at the PGBT)

And finally...this will be replaced as part of the Ft Worth Mixmaster project, but a rare state-name shield on a BGS.
